Dublin City Buskers is an organization composed of different street performers and people who support freedom of expression on Dublin’s streets. They actively fight for legislation from Dublin City Council that is friendly and supportive to buskers so they can avoid what happened in Amsterdam, where all busking was made illegal, effectively killing part of the city’s culture. Current legislation in Dublin makes busking illegal in half of Temple Bar and Henry Street, two of Dublin’s most populated shopping districts. Dublin City Buskers is a serious organization with a written constitution and code of behavior for their buskers. They are determined to continue working towards a freer Dublin that supports the arts and the buskers who make a living performing throughout the city.

We hope to show our support to the Dublin City Buskers through Artists at Work, we have partnered with the organization to provide performance space for buskers at the event, and we have donated money to their cause. Artists at Work aims to illuminate the importance of buskers to the culture and vibrancy of Dublin’s streets in the hope that more community members will learn about and support their cause.
